The Rotaract Club of Calcutta Metro South of Globsyn Business School organized the yearly ‘Durga Puja’ at an old-age home near Kolkata. With the rhythmic beats of the ‘Dhak’ floating in the air the puja celebration had brought smiles on the faces of around 40 male and female elderly inmates of the old age home at South Garia.

The five day long puja was inaugurated by Prof. R. C. Bhattacharya – Director & Vice Chairman, Globsyn Business School on ‘Sasthi’. The whole old-age home was decorated with lights and flowers by the elderly inmates who were extremely touched by the love and affection of the Globsyn students. Those who were not able to walk down to the puja pandal, were carried by the club members on stretchers during the ‘arati’ and ‘anjali’. On ‘Dashami’ when the celebration got over after the ‘Bisorjon’ the inmates were all in tears to say goodbye to their young friends.

All major expenses of the project were met by raising fund from the students of Globsyn Business School, employees of Globsyn Technologies, and some business houses. The Globsyn Management is extremely happy for such a successful event organized by the Rotaract Club and hoped that the club will continue taking up such meaning projects in future for the betterment of the society.
